WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO WRITE?

Where do you like to write?
For writers who write in the morning and evening being at home is the best place to be. Some writers work best being in their bedroom tucked up in bed, with their laptop or their A4 notebook on their laps.
What other kind of places can you think of where you could go and be inspired to write poetry?
Café?...Library?...Park bench?..Can you think of somewhere more unusual?
ACTION: tweet us your ideas and tell us where you are!

Break out of your normal routine and try some of the following places:
1. The library is full of noises and voices can you hear them?…
Go to your local Library you can  be anonymous when you are writing, that way you can let your imagination run free. This would suit Night Owls, writers who like writing at night, some libraries close late, and this could be a good way of warming up and getting ready for some late night writing back at home.
TOP TIP:  Browse the shelves for inspiration. You can become anything or anyone you choose, try writing in the voice of historical characters or a real person who lived along time ago or imagine what it would be like to write in the voice of an animal.
2.The rural poet like to go and write outside in nature. Sometimes finding a quiet spot outside can be useful to let your mind wander and it can help to ground yourself and your writing first thing in the morning. This would suit Morning birds, writers who like starting bright and early.
TOP TIP: Go and visit your local park or green and try and write with all your senses Describe your surroundings…What do you see, hear, touch, taste? Can you smell the great outdoors? What images can you bring into your poems?

3. The timeless poet likes to back into the past or head out in the future the choice is yours. Some timeless places include fun places like amusement parks. Good writers borrow and steal and to create something new try a museum or gallery, they are  great place to grab ideas from and make your own piece…
TOP TIP: Be an archaeologist, scientist or art historian that discovers something new, it could be an art object or a landscape or an animal on display. What mysterious ideas and sensations can you bring in to your own writing?

4. The urban poets likes to watch people, in streets and from the inside of café’s while they are drinking there caffe latte. They likes to be in the here and now and get inspiration from what they hear and see.
TOP TIP: To kick start a new dramatic poem write down overheard conversations. Find a busy place and surround yourself with people, and if you get stuck browse the surroundings for characters, interesting faces, and imagine what they are really thinking.
